What is the biggest North American game animal you would feel confident using a 7mm Rem Mag on?  What's the smallest?  Just curious.
Beware of the man with only one gun, He likely knows how to use it.

The Encore Kid,

Moose is as far as I would go.  Brown Bears are out of it's class in my opinion.  Lawdog

Have to agree with Lawdog.  The big bears are stretching the capabilities of the 7 mag.  If that were my only rifle, and I was given an opportunity to hunt them, I wouldn't turn it down, but would want someone with a larger caliber backup to come along.  Other than that, the 7mm mag will handle anything on the continent, including prarie dogs with lighter bullets....although the recoil would certainly wear you down by the end of the day!

i have shot gophers, deer and a bison with mine.  its my favorite caliber.

i dont think that i would haul my 7mm for bear though, as they might bite back.

Moose would be tops in my book...... but! I took my 1st bull with a 7mm Rem. mag. Rest assurred it can be done, bullet placement is critical. Even a shot through both lungs will not put a moose down, Right Now, which is what you want to do. There big with a lot blood and oxygen flowing. They can make it to very inhospitable bush before they go down. Making for a lot of work in retreival. My next three Canadian Moose were taken with a .358STA built especially for the task of Moose hunting. Much better in laying them down where they stand.
Inland or Mountain Grizzlys, maybe, if thats all I had in my hands. Brown Bear..... NEVER!
