On Saturday morning a fine 10 point was walking broadside at 40 yards.
I was shooting Huntsman, .50, 295 flat nosed Powerbelt. As I got on the deer, and tracked him through the scope, I apparently fired through light brush. (I went back and checked). I missed the deer to my astonishment.
Fortuately, he started to scrape and lick a branch, oblivious to the sound of my shot. In the open I loaded another charge, and killed him at the same distance... Lucky for me! My longstanding belief is confirmed to me.
There ain't no such thing as a good "brush gun"! You gotta find windows!
