I took that Traditions .50 cal Hawken rifle out today with my kids. I had only fired it once and the second time I tried it I got a ball stuck about two inches down the bore. That was years ago, and I haven't tried it since. But today that changed. I prelubed it with bore butter ( a suggestion I got from someone on this forum I think). We shot it a bunch. It was a lot of fun. Just making all that smoke was worth it. And the kids enjoyed it too.
I apreciate all the information I got from you guys. Thanks. Now I can get practiced up for the deer season next year if I draw out for black powder.
