Ruger MKII standard rifle
« on: November 25, 2005, 07:51:59 AM »
Does anyone out there have one of these in the 204 Ruger.  I finally gave in and bought one.  My local gun shop had a sale and a MKII for $399.00 so I ended up bringing it home with me.  Can anyone give me any idea what I can expect from this rifle.  All the threads that I,ve been reading have been on varmint weight barrels.  I wanted a rifle that would make a good walking piece and though this would serve my needs, but now I'm beginning to wonder if I've made a mistake.  Too cold out to start working up loads so I'll be wondering about this rifle all winter.  I don't think my Oehler would read anything in the cold.  Any suggestions on loads or bedding.  I've just done a home trigger job on it and got it down to 2 1/2 lbs. on my Lyman electronic gage.  Thanks,  Panhandlepr
