There are really 4 different frames.  There is an early SB2 frame for low intensity rifles, a newer SB2 frame for the high powered stuff, a SB1 frame for the shotguns and a rimfire frame with the firing pin high to hit the rim of a 22 or 17 cal RF.  All the barrels will fit all the frames, but all are only safe on the new SB2 frame.  You can fit a shotgun from a SB1 frame to a SB2 frame and it is good, but not the other way around.  A rimfire barrel will not work on a SB1 or SB2 frame because the firing pin is in the wrong place.  They all look pretty much the same, at least they have the same shape, but different finishes.  Thats about it, except the 10 gauge shotgun frame which is different from all of them.  Larry
A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.
