I saw a man dressing a buck while wearing a pair of heavy duty vinyl gloves. They were tinted but transparent and they came up to his elbows. When he was done, he pulled them off and didn't have a speck of blood on his hands or arms. I would like some of these gloves. Anyone know a source of supply for this kind of glove? Are they used in meat processing plants?

I am not sure where to buy them but I am a confirmed believer. Last spring I nicked myself while processing one of five bears. The resulting infection cost a little over $2,000 and at one point my thumb was turning black. It swelled so bad, all the skin pealed off.

Wear gloves. Neater, cleaner and the chance of infection is a lot less.

You can find most kinds of gloves at laboratory supply companies such as Cole-Parmer (http://www.coleparmer.com/) or Fisher Scientific (http://www.fishersci.com/). I have started using Nitrile gloves at work. I don't know how cut reistant they are, but I haven't ripped one yet when snagging them.

They also have nitrile gloves with kevlar, but they are $$$$$ (at least for me).

Check with your local Vet. who deals with cattle and horses, they have the ones used to check cattle for pregnacy :eek: JIM

go to dick's sporting goods and get some Hunter's view field dressing gloves they are something like $0.99 for a pack when on sale.
You get one pair of shoulder length gloves with rubber bands to hold them up and a pair of rubber gloves to put on under the shoulder gloves

I use them all the time and they work ok I still get blood all ove rthe place but my coaa sleaves are nice and clean :grin:

I use the 2 glove pack from the outdoor stores, as I am allergic to deer hair, and it is very nice to take them off and be clean! I always have a couple of packages in the fanny pack.
