I'm no expert but I think most waterfowl land into the wind. I would guess they'd come from SSW. I'm pretty sure they would stick to their normal flight patterns but take this course when they want to land. Can't help with the blind, I'm not much of a builder myself. Good hunting.

Ducks land into the wind. When the wind is light or variable they might land any direction. Do a google search for homemade waterfowl blinds. Blinds can be as simple as covering with what matches the conditions. Such as lying down and covering with a white sheet if there is snow on the ground.

ducks always land into the wind.  For a portable blind I've used surpluss camo and fence posts.  Generally i just take my limb nipper and make a natural blind.  I also have a couple of commecial "pop-up" blinds.  They work great when you can back them up to something but have a pretty square profile if you can't hide them.

4 or 5 aluminum poles with a hook on the top end, plus some real light camo netting will serve you fine. And make the blind an odd shape with irregular sides. Ducks seem to know that bushes do not grow in perfectly square  box shapes.
If there is some loose grass around toss it on the net but don't pull up grass and leave dark areas around your blind.
Oh, and be sure to pick up your hulls as you go or the ducks will see those and shy away.
