Did it begin 42 years ago today? Where were you? I was appropriately in Senior American History Class!

It began in 1934 with the passage of the National Firearms Act.

They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

After 1934 the nest big kick came in the fifties when moonshining went into decline.  In order to justify their budget the ATF turned to fireamrs enforcement.  Then in the late fifities or early sixties Senator Dodd got on the bandwagon.  (The father of the current Senator Dodd.)  Kennady's assasination prompted a lot of talk but no action.  The riots of 1968 got the ball rolling and President Johnson signed away more of our rights on December 16, 1968.  From then on it's modern history.
