Port flash???

Anyone ever shoot one of the Taurus Total Titanium .357 revolvers in a dark area? I ask because I am wondering if the flash from the ports, if indeed there is any flash from there,  would ruin a second shot?

Not .357, but Taurus Tracker in .41 Magnum. There is a flash (big). Would make a second shot in the dark difficult, at least for these old eyes.

Thanks Greenjeans.... Yup, I thought there might be a good flash out of those ports. I've never fired a hand gun that had them but it seemed logical. Something else to consider before I buy a new hand gun I guess.

Assuming you are firing at a BG he will see the same flash plus have other problems to be conserned with. Just a thought.

One thing to consider is that a .357 has to have the worst flash of any handgun caliber.  That said, I have seen photographs of ported guns fired at night in articles trying to determine if porting is distracting or not.  It seemed to me in the pictures that if there was a lot of flash from the ports, there was also a lot of flash from the muzzle!  In the dark, they were both noticeable so you would get the same effect on your eyes, ports or no ports.  I have several guns that are ported and some that are not.  I'll take the porting and control anyday over the non-ported guns.  44 Man

The 357 mag is the worst handgun to do any night shooting.......Joe......
