Wacky I was scouting a new ranch I just got permission on and it has a couple of real rough sections of badlands, deep brushy draws, junipers. As soon as the cat season opens I'm going to get it set up.It's 20 degrees and the wind is blowing about 35 mph out of the N.W. Supposed to get -3 degrees tomorrow night.Coyotes got real good fur on all 4 sides. He,He He,got 6 in the basement thawing out with Amberg neckties.
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!

when does "the season" open for cats?  Does MT have seasons set for each sector?  I knew they had quotas in each sector.

You didn't say if you have fur on all 4 sides too.

Bobcat season opens Dec.1.We have district quotas not trapper quotas. Some districts close in a month, the quota gets filled. Some districts close at the end of the season as the quotas aren't met.I spent a few days with James Halseth. He had 3 mangey coyotes in a row, then he got a good one.As we pull up to it he said"At least this one has fur on all 4 sides"I lost it,I laughed so hard tears were running down my chubby little cheeks.Henceforth all coyotes are checked for fur on all 4 sides upon dispatch.
