You know how cold it was today. Me and my idiot brother stood in the ice water all day for those two woodies

SX2,
Glad to see you got out to hunt. Is that Anderson Lake in the picture? 2 woodies is better than nothing. I am sure you have had days when you have been in the freezing water for hours and then gone home empty handed. I know I have gone home empty handed many a time.
Hope to head back to the river on Sunday for a couple days of hunting. Curious to see if there is some open water in the slough. If they kept a pump going I should be in good shape. Everyone but me was supposed to be deer hunting this weekend.
Good luck on your next outing.

Yes Sir,
That's Anderson. Walk in spot #28. Your right, not complaining about 2 woodies

Water should open up a bit, especially if some pumped on top of it. I deer hunted today. Way warmer than I was yesterday. :coffee:

Good luck on your solo hunt while everyone chases Bambi. Be carefull :toast:

Got to the river on Monday. Did some chores and then got out to hunt with a friend at 2:30pm. From 3:00-4:00 we killed 5 mallards. Should have had 7 but the shooting (my shooting) was off abit. Tuesday morning nothing. Went out Tuesday afternoon between 3:00 and 4:00 and harvested mallards again. Wednesday morning hunted until 9:00am and the ducks would not work again. Had to head back home for Thanksgiving. Maybe I will sleep in from now on and only hunt in the afternoon. Hit the South Side for dinner Monday and Tuesday night. Good food and cheap prices. It don't get better than that.
Everyone have an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Hi Bill,
Brother and I wne to Anderson Thursday. Our shooting wasn't so good either. I think the high winds had a bit to do with it. Unfortunately, we lost two woodies and a Mallard drake in the AG field (spot 30). Believe me, we looked hard. Dang near had a heart attack walking in that stuff.

Ducks wanted to work so bad, the wind wouldn't let them. The malleard we shot came in and landed in the decoys with a hen. Others were trying to get in that hole, just too small of a LZ for them.

Hope you had a good one too Bill.

SX2,
Got back to the river for a Thursday hunt. Had a good hunt. Three of us harvested 9 mallards for the day. The wind was really bitter, but because of our location, the west wind really is beneficial. We may get locked up with the cold weather that is predicted.
