shell extractor

has anyone had any  problems with the shell extractor on handi 243 the extractor seems to hang real low compare to sons youth modle 243 youth modle is 5 yrs old the other is 1yr

Welcome aboard, Steve!! :D There are 2 different types of shell removal mechanisms, spring driven ejectors on older models and extractors on new models. There are 2 types of ejectors, one just operates in and out, the other type has a button and spring that allows it to drop down when the action is opened to allow a cartridge to be chambered.
