But, this seems to be the place for answers. Is anyone having trouble  @ Marliowners.com, or is it just me  or do I have a computer issue? Get this durn ziOxbb shellcode thingamajig. Can anyone tell me what the deal is?

Was a thread here a couple days ago about the same problem over there. According to Graybeard (in the thread) theres been a hacker attacking boards like this one recently (see announcement above to this effect), could be that Larry has been hit too. I haven't been over there to see for myself, so I can't speak to this from personal experience, but apparently all is not well at marlinowners

the folks over at Leverguns are sayin it has been hacked. sure hope the catch whoever is responisible, if that is the case. Some poeple just can't leave a good thing alone.

This last hacker was a real pro. He truly knew what he was doing. If Larry isn't pretty darn sharp on this stuff it's gonna take him awhile to get it fixed. If we didn't have such a whizbang Webmaster here at GBO we might still be down too.

Maybe not but he can dang sure type it.  :)  I would however suspect it's not his native language. Still he understands the inner workings of phpbb and how to do the damage he wants and no more. Here he had the access to wipe the site but didn't. He only did a few neat things to test how good the webmaster was. The knowledge and effort required to restore was pretty high but the damage was really very minimal. I think it was a very well planned effect.

I am really computer illiterate but i have heard there is security software that can send the virus or whatever right back to the person that sent it before it gets into your computer. Does anyone know if this works for hackers too?

Do a web search on google for the ziox hack you'll see they hit 90 sites... I hope the person if caught will be cained publicly.  :x
