He had 4 does come in on him during the NY gun season. Three really nice ones and one that was limping and having trouble walking.

He shot the 60 pound doe filling his doe tag and putting the thing out of its misery. The front two legs were broken so it looks like the deer had had a car encounter.

Proud of him to help an animal out and ease its pain. :agree:
He did the correct thing. Ethics can be taught.

He is thirty now. Been hunting since he was 13 and has about 40+ deer to his credit already.

He had a good teacher. :roll:

Dave you're old! Just kidding! congrats on your son. My son who is in the Air Force now, for 2 years gave me a call today and was wondering if I planned to go to Tenn. after the 1st of the year to hunt. I said I was. Man it made me feel good to hear him asked me if he could go with me.He hasn't killed a deer yet, but hopefully he will this time. To be frankly honest, I hope he can get his first, even if I don't get one. It would be nice and then tell him to get on the net and visit you guys here at GBO to learn quite a few things. I can give him a few pointers, but it is just more fun to learn a lot more from different people which I consider, the cream of the crop. Sorry about the rambling, I just would like to see my son get his first deer! :toast: :mrgreen:

TOMMYY01: You won't find a nicer group of people than here at GB. I have been here since the new system was installed and a few years before that back home.

You can learn a lot here and people are always willing to answer your questions. Might not always be the most correct information but at least you can judge for yourself. :eek:

I saved up 8 personal days last year so I could fly back to hunt with my son. I will be doing the same thing next fall back in New York. He can hardly wait. He is even coming here this spring for a black bear hunt.
