.22 Long Rifle bullet drop at 100, 150 and 200 yards?
« on: November 20, 2005, 09:55:55 AM »
Does anyone know what the bullet drop would be for the .22 Long Rifle at 100 , 150 and 200 yards?  I know the .22 Long Rifle is not a bullet for long range hunting , but would be curious to know how much it drops at those ranges.

Thanks,

No. I got all woods behind my place. Longest shot in the woods would be 100 yards, at most. On the other hand, My neighbor's Sheep farm has open pastures and corn fields where a 150 to 200 yard shot at a Red Fox or Coyote would be easy to do with the right rifle.

Varmint Al has charts on his web site for the 17hmr, 17M2 and 22Lr for comparison....

Quick,
Interesting chart.  I noticed that the Rem. Sub-Sonic LRs state, right on the box, a drop of 4.7" at 100 yds.

If you want to get rase eyebrows one way to do it is by making what appear to be shots well beyond the capabilities of your .22.  It's not that hard to do but the secret is to shoot at an exactly known range and avoid any hint of wind.  It also helps to shoot at a target that will show a hit even if only nicked like a can on a post.

Practice till you have it down pat.  Then, what you do is, on a day when the conditions are rite you do it once in front of a friend.  Then some other time, casually do it for someone else.  And maybe again for someone else.  By that time your reputation will be made.  Never under any conditions do it again or they will put 2 & 2 together and figure out that it was a set up.
