Barrel #4...
« on: November 29, 2005, 05:43:53 AM »
Well traded off the Ruger SRH last night, hated to see it go but I never use it anymore.

Bought a 24" 12ga SST slug barrel for the encore also bought the special scope mount and composite forend.  Doesn't look bad on the blued frame at all.

Now, anyone with advise/good results with any sabot slugs out of this barrel would be appreciated.  I'm probably going to be sighted dead on at 100 since I do some hunting around field edges as long as it not too high at 50 yards.

I've always liked the Remington Copper solids but they're harder to find these days.  Friend shoots Winchester BRI's out of his 870 with good results.  Just a thought.

Thanks,

Josh

I did look at those today at the store and liked what I saw.  I'm decideding between those and the following:

Remington:  Buckhammer, Copper Solids and Core-lokt.

Winchester: BRI Sabot, Platinum Tip and Gold

Federal: Barnes Expanders

Also looked at some Lightfields today also.
