Sun glare
« on: November 25, 2005, 06:30:52 PM »
I'm having a problem in seeing my "reddot" in bright sunlight.Shaded I can see it fine;but when I view my target into bright sunlight,I can't see the darn dot, even on highest setting.I looked thru Midway cat. and found some cover(shades for them, but the smallest I can find is 40mm;I need 30mm.Guess I should have bought an "Aimpoint".My buddy has one on his AR and you can see it very, very well.Any ideas???......Rick

I mounted an aacudot sight on a Contender 44 Mag barrel and had the same problem, my solution was to replace the reddot scope with a conventional scope.

The Bushnell "Trophy" red dot comes with one of those. Bushnell would probably send you one for yours dirt cheap.

My Ultra Dot came with a sun shade lens. Try contacting your scope manufacturer and ask if any are available?

I have not run into that problem with my Ultra-dot. I don't even use the sun shade it came with.
ihuntbucks, what red-dot are you using?

On Sat. mornings I meat this friend that works for the Sheriff up state. Him and I shoot rifles with scopes on them. We have to face right into the sun to shoot the targets and at one point you can't see to shoot anything. So we wait til that passes before we continue shooting. :D
