which performance muffler to get?

I have a 202 Silverado with the 4.8 v8 (extended cab). It has the stock muffler on it and I would like to get one of the performance ones out there but, there are so many. What do you all use if you have one and have they improved your power/mileage?

I use a Magnaflow. But I really don't notice any gas savings. I have a 5.9L motor. But I do have a lot of power, but I had that before the muffler was installed.  :D

Don't expect much improvement in power or mpg from just a muffler change.  Stock engines today are usually fitted with adequately sized mufflers, so a performance one will mostly just change the sound.  I prefer SpinTech mufflers, mostly because they are quality built and do not sound like every other muffler out there.  The sound quality is "tighter" than the usual FlowMaster or DynoMax.  Loudness is determined by the series number of the muffler ordered, just like with the two brands above.  Call the makers and ask for their recommendation, they will help guide you towards the sound you want.

We install the AeroTurbine mufflers at our shop and have seen some really good gains on the gas engines...We installed one a while back on a GMC Sierra with the 4.8L and he picked up 1-2 MPG, sounds awesome too!
