I have been trying different Mfg bullets with different powder loads to see if I can get my 308 a bit more accurate. I purchased a box of Barnes XLC 150 gr. boattail's (the blue one's) to try out.
Well, the cost of the bullet was a bit high, but then I discovered that I had to buy the top secret (double secret probation) reloading book just to see if I even like the bullet.
Well, before I drop another $25 on this blue bullet book, if someone could give the low\high powder charges for Varget and Win 748 I would appreciate it very much.
Now, if this little blue bullet is a tack driver, even though it is a bit pricey, I will invest in the book and buy more bullets. I do know I have to make the OAL 50 to 60 thou less than the chamber lenght of my rifle. But I don't want to do a guess on the powder charge from the get-go.
Much thanks.
Dave.
