The future of AK's?

I've been reading that the BATF has banned imported bbls.

How will this affect the availabilty of complete AK rifles and part kits?

Will they still be around 12-18 months from now or should I save my beer money and buy one ASAP.

Whether they are still avaliable in a year or two or not, the price can only rise as less of them are available. I'd look at buying now if you want the best price and best choice.

Where would I get the kits that you guys are talking about? Would it be better to buy one new if possible? Thanks for any info. - Gordy.

Hey Ed, What is involved in getting those rommies back to a working rifle? I am a bit handy with tools, but not a gunsmith for sure. That sounds like a good idea for someone that likes to put things together. Thanks for any info. - Gordy.

We also have the option of getting a new saiga and changing the furniture on it too along with moving the trigger.  Many of these have been converted into "AK" looking rifles if thats what your looking for.

Gordy, there are several ways to build an ak, go to akfiles.com or gunco or ak47.net there they have all the info you could want, there is no way i could show it here ,just too much of it,one of the main things you will see is wheather to build with rivets or screws, screws require the least amount of special tools, screws will hold just fine, one guy used plastic pegs in one build to see what happened,it held together for several shots.hope all shis helps, can't get much cheaper than this to build a new rifle, one serious warning, you will be come addicted to building AKs,one is not enough. :D
