How is this sport growing?

How fast do you think this sport is growing?  :eek:  

I say this because I see guns running out not long after they are advertised on some of the sites.  Plus i see a lot of new posters and posts. I think this sport is growing by leaps and bounds.  :D

I say welcome to new guys to this great sport and I say get them while they are still available and affordable. Welcome aboard :grin:  

If you don't have your C&RFFL you should look into getting it.  You can save many $$ on C&R's plus a discount at midwayusa too.  You get your $30 cost back ten fold over the three years and more if you shop smart.

For the guys who read only feel free to post and join in its a great affordable sport even if your looking buy more or just starting out.  You don't need a safe full to join in here I had two surplus rifle for over 25+ years.  If you have just one your not missing out because they are a hoot to shoot once you clean the cosmoline off your first one then you earn your C&R Wings. Then your bitten by the bug and its down hill but its fun and the most fun i ever had with my clothes on.  Just pull up a chair and register and stick around for a while enjoy. :lol:

To the ones who don't like surplus military guns too bad there is more for us to enjoy them and don't give me the bad looks when you see they still shoot great even after they are over 100 years old. You are sure missing out of some great fun.  :wink:  You know its never to late to get one? :wink:

C&R is my latest addiction! I browse the auctions sites every day, and now the USPS and the BBT are my friends.

C&R and the BBT do go together don't they. And yes I can spend hours day after day browsing the gun sites on the net its like a never end story the search goes on forever.  And at gun shows feel like were walking on sacred ground.  I don't know of too many sports or hobbies  were we can touch and fondle and not get into trouble. :D

You know you have it really bad when just the smell of cosmo turns you on.....

I've been collecting for about 6 years now. A few years ago, other than the internet, it was very hard to find people who knew anything about milsurps and the ones that had anything to say only said negative things. The conservation club I belong to has started a monthly milsurp benchrest match 2 years ago which has become one of the fastest growing events there. My only complaint is that they don't have classes for sniper rifles even though there are a few Gew 43, svt-40, mosin and mauser sniper owners in the club that have to shoot 'lesser rifles' for now. :lol:

I've gotta say that I think post-911 has caused a lot of people to stockpile guns and military rifles tend to be survivors.
But there seems to be a growth in interest in mil-surp, maybe because they're finally worth more than they were years ago.

Well I know I have been interested in it for awhile, and I am sitting here staring at the C&R paperwork right now. Anyone have a cheat sheet on filling this thing out?

I agree the post 9/11 woke up some people but the storm in New Orleans LA. sure should of woke up some more with all the killings, rapes from the bad people who seem to come out of their holes to take advantage of the needy. I'm not sure who to be afraid of the arabs or our own people scary?

If your interested in C&R guns this is a very good site with lots of good people with information to share. Mikey and S.Sumner helped me out alot in the past to identify what i had.  Your right its tough to find others who like surplups locally other than us on the internet.

No i don't have any cheater info on the C&R form, but i can say to renew your C&R before it ends in 3years like do it the minute you receive your renewal form from the ATF otherwise you have to reapply all over again. I waited too long and i had to reapply and the lost time inbetween without it i lost some great sales too. I was orginally forced to get mine because of the local dealers don't want to touch C&R's at all.  I have no idea why a local gun shop doesn't have a C&R rack in the corner of their store.  Their losing out.
