'Just got a new .17 HMR Sportster. After I took it out of the box, I made the mistake of dry firing twice to check the trigger pull (DUH !!!). I assumed it was ok since it's a transfer bar system similar to Ruger SA revolvers. I later read in the manual that this is a BIG NO-NO. Do you think I screwed anything up? How can I tell?

your fine . just a couple times wont kill you . but i have broke one on a shot gun (same pin) by dry firing

If you want to dry fire it, just put a spent case in the chamber and change it out often, cheaper than snap caps and a lot cheaper and easier than getting the firing pin or transfer bar changed!!!
