Christmas Wish, a 338 Federal Remington 7600

Wouldnt it be nice, a Remington 7600 in the new 338 Federal (338-08). And while we are dreaming, how about a 7600 with a lightweight receiver to lose some weight for us woods walkers?

I have a 7600 in .30-06 carbine.  I thought it would be cool to rebarrel to .338 Federal, but what would I have to do to the bolt etc...?  Then I thought maybe I should just rebarrel to .338-06, then have nothing to do to the bolt.  Thoughts on that?

I had my M7600 (.30-06) rebored to .338-06 years ago, and it turned out great.  No changes were needed to the magazine or bolt face of course, and feeding is perfect.  In this instance, unless you do not reload the longer case makes more sense.  You can load it down to .338 Fed velocities, or up it to full .338-06 speed.  For the .338 Fed you'd need to use .308 magazines - no problem getting those of course.
