Well, I finally got to hunt with my .280 Handi this week. The results have been excellent. I mounted a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 scope, and have been using factory Federal 140gr HE Bear Claws. The load chrono'd 3100+ in my 26" barrel, and have been very accurate.
Anyway, late Tuesday afternoon I took two does, both at around 85 yards. The first dropped, and the second ran around 35 yards. Yesterday morning, I had three coyotes run by me. The first was alone, and I couldn't get him to stop. Two more came by, and both stopped when I whistled. I nailed the second one at around forty yards, and the third one is still probably running! I've seen coyotes on the property before, but never more than one at a time.
Here are a few pics of the coyote. He weighed 41lbs, and I'm going to have the hide tanned. I all ready have one mounted that's actually quite a bit larger than him.
