Just heard the 6:30 PM National News. Should have left the TV off tonight. Ten Marines dead from an ambush IED in Fallujah. My Marine
son was in Fallujah today with 2/6/Fox Company and I don't know if he is OK tonight. While no news is essentially good news, not knowing for sure is eroding the level of confidence that I have typically had in regard to his safety.

Ben' wife e-mailed this morning. Ben is OK. He didn't refer to the event other than to pass along that he was OK and in another unit [ECP-2]. I can rest easier. I think ECP is Entry Control Personnel.

Thank the Lord he's OK landowner...I share your feelings.
My Grandson is over there somewhere with the 22nd MEU (special ops).
I don't believe he's in Fallujah though, since he just recently arrived there and they have been drawing troops out of Fallujah..

Praise God. Glad to hear that you got word that your son is okay. Lot your boy know that he has our gratitude and that he and the rest of our service men and women are in our prayers.

I want to go on record saying that the support received on this site is sincerely appreciated. To be able to "sound off", to express an opinion and parry with differing opinions, to be able to express concern and to receive support is stabilizing and for that I am grateful.

Landowner and all;

While my grandson is in Iraq, his little bride at Camp Lejeune is of course, still attending that little local church where they attended together.
At a service soon after , the Pastor introduced a tearful gentleman...whose son was one of the ten who did get hit...
Several Marine families attend there and it is a REAL New Testament church !
Tears and hugs all 'round for a while, and a thoughtful, pensive congregation for the rest of the service..

At a time like this and fully realizing how the enemy takes great encouragement from any dissent and wrangling in America...I wonder if a certain "decorated" ex-Marine has any qualms of conscience...
