Has anyone had any difficulty with this?  Specifically the rear objective hitting the bolt when it's thrown?

The older Rugers do not come with a mounting system, now they do because of this reason. You will probably need to get the specialized rings from Leupold. Brace yourself, they are a little spendy. Plan on spending about $75 depending on the scope model and scope barrel diameter. Question a gunsmith for the rings you need for the scope you have and then shop around.  If you are lucky, you may be able to pick up a set used. Good luck!
If a tree falls in the woods and my wife is not there to hear it...is it still my fault?

The only thing you can do is order higher rings cost goes from $50.00 to $65.00, you can use RUGER rings in high or LEUPOLD after market for the MARK II.
Thats all !

Ruger now sells Torx screws for their rings. I put a post under Ruger firearms too. The screws cost 50 cents per screw.
