Tried the harvester sabots with the hornady 300 gr, sst, what a difference.
Can be pushed in by thumb and seated with ramrod, no short starter needed. And they still shoot the same as with hornady sabots. Also tried the powerbelts 295 gr. areotips, very erratic, going to have play around with this one. I was doing my testing back in the woods resting against a tree so not the best for accuracy. I will go to the range for further testing.
But for now I'm satisfied with the harvester hornady combo.

I also have tried the Harvester Sabots with the SST bullets because they load hard in my Omega. The Harvester Sabots loaded easier. Only problem , my accuracy suffered. Seems my Omega prefers the tighter bullet/sabot combination.

I have used the harvester sabot for a few years now and they shoot very good. And I also use the hornady XTP 300 gr bullet which has performed without a flaw for years. YOU WILL LIKE THAT COMBO!
I will try to post a picture of my only recovered XTP bullet which has a nice mushroom. (and the deer that it took :grin: )

Good looking deer and the bullets looked like it performed flawlessly.

Now that is what it is all about,nice buck.I just might have to look into that bullet/sabbot combo.

I did the 100 strokes or so with the JB bore paste on my stainless Encore. Much to my suprise when I finally got out to the range I was amazed at how much easier it was to load the SST"s with both the Harvesters and the MMP sabots packaged with the SST's. I haven't really shot them for accuracy yet as I have a bunch of Precision Rifle QT 40's to hunt with and shoot up. When they are gone then I'll work up a load with the SST's and Shockwaves.
