Another Stevens 200 question?
« on: February 01, 2006, 12:45:29 PM »
Just bought a new Stevens 200 in 30-06. What is the proper procedure for breaking in a new gun and about how many rounds until the barrel will be at it's best as far as grouping?
Never bought a new gun before and have not had to deal with this. Thanks

If you go to the Savage web site they have a break in procedure listed there.  Basically what you are doing is smoothing or lapping the barrel to prevent a lot of copper fouling.
Good Shooting,
George
