Savage/Stevens barrel swap?

I read somewhere that the Savage can easily swap barrles,so I suspect the Stevens can too.Wanted to get a Stevens in 7-08,but now see BP has the 06 and 270 for $199.Maybe get another 06,and add a .338 barrel.Comments welcome.Thanks,Dave

Good plan in my opinion.  I'm in the middle of swapping a donor Stevens m-200 in .25-06 to .338-06. Just waiting on the new barrel and a thicker recoil lug.  Using a long action Savage laminate stock.  All the other parts will be reused.
