marlin 44 mag loading
« on: December 31, 2005, 08:50:53 AM »
I got my stuff together to load a Marlin 44 mag.  Since the tang is not drilled and tapped for a tang sight, I was lucky to catch a sale at Midway--the Williams FP receiver sight and 2, different height fire sights for about $52.

I have a box of swaged bullets.  In effect, they are not lubed.  Being swaged, they are smooth.

The question is, can or should I load these bullets for the rifle?  If all of you say I need lubed bullets, then these are a waste.  I am concerned about no lube and leading.

I paln to start with 2400 powder but want to try American Pionee 3f also.

Thanks----have a safe, happy, and healthy new year.
