« on: December 15, 2005, 07:00:06 AM »
i am just getting into beaver trapping and have a limited # of 330's that i picked up locally,  do you all use the mass produced stableizers or do you manufacture your own.  also these traps i purchased are duke', " the trigger seems to move alot befor firing" is there an adjustment i can do to the dog or trigger for less travel?

I always use a stabilizer.Mass produced???? I make stabilizers for my customers both the H type, and my Patented Bogmaster and Swampmaster, adjustable stabilizers.Aint nothing mass produced about them.I do the cutting, the bending and the grinding, and My friend does all the welding.
 Stable 330s----means more beaver.

Tom I also would be intrested in seeing a picture of your adjustable stabilizers. Hope you are able to post those pictures if you get the chance. I've been using crossed sticks tied at the top with wire, with the trap pinched between them with a strand of wire just beneath the trap to put tension on them and hold the trap, then stuck in the bottom of the run. Works , but would like a easier, quicker to use set-up. I really liked the ones I got from you for the 160's. Very nice workmanship, and very handy. It sure is a bear to make your own stuff like stakes sometimes. To make a few hundered dozen of them is real work. I give you guys that fabricate this stuff alot of credit.
