How do you think I could I make trap stakes. Should i weld large washers on 1/2" or 3/8" rebar, or could I use 1/2" all-thread with bolts and washers?

1/2" rebar with nuts or washers welded on work great

I make my own re-bar stakes, and use 5/8" nuts on 1/2" re-bar. I put the nut on the end of the re-bar about a 1/2" down from the top of the stake and weld it in  place. Then I melt in  the whole top of the stake above the nut and beat it over while it's red hot, to round it over nicely. Then I put a point on the stake. A 5/8" nut is a tight fit on a 1/2" piece of re-rod to begin with, and works perfect.
