Hi Rim,

I've got a 1a Sporter in 243.  They are fairly accurate and occasionally need a tweek to the trigger, barrel hanger or some bedding.  I get 1" groups at 100yrds when I do my part.  They are great rifles....buy one and have fun.

Ruger No 1 Standard
« Reply #2 on: December 19, 2005, 05:35:08 AM »
I have an older one in the "Standard" configuration.  I bought it used about 15yrs ago and have done nothing to it besides adding my scope.  With handloads, I am consistently printing 1/2"-3/4" (more 1/2" than 3/4")at 100yds.  Mine likes midweight bullets (70-90gr range) at "full" velocity (currently IMR4350 powder).  I had contemplated selling the Ruger on several occassions, but it just shoots too nice!

I would like to add a big brother in the future...maybe 30-06, 300 Win Mag, or 338 Win Mag.  Don't really have a need for one yet...but someday!
