The Uberti '73s are one of two guns that rule the roost when it comes to cowboy action competition. There are dozens of gunsmiths that know their way around the '73, short stoke kits are available, and lots of spare parts can be easily had. The quality standard was already pretty high, and it hasn't really changed. A well qualified 'smith should look over the internals of the gun, remove burrs, and maybe upgrade a few high stress parts, if you plan on heavy use. If you're a 100 round a year shooter, you won't need to worry about this, just take it out and enjoy it.
