The Made in the USA T/C Omega. Would be my choice. I myself have an Encore. My two brothers own Omegas they are very happy with them. If I were to buy another it would be an Omega.

I've bought my first Thompson Center gun around 1980 a 54 ca. Renegade. Then a Contender pistol around 1985. 2000 I bought my Encore. All of them have been trouble free and very accurate.

In my opinion T/C guns are worth the extra money, and their lifetime warranty is there if you should need it.

All I can say is go out and shoulder both rifles see what feels best to you. Then look at the quality of the workmanship in both. Then make your decision.

I would go with the Omega too. I have an Encore and my hunting buddy has a CVA Optima. We both agree the Encore is the better of the two. About the only big difference between the Encore and Omega is the barrel switch out capability. Spend the extra money and get the Omega. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I shoot an Omega and am not worried about it blowing up as have some of the spanish barreled CVA's.  I cannot personally say anything about the CVA's, but would hate to see a fellow shooter being hurt by using a barrel not rated for the pressure.  I don't want to start an argument, but when it comes to safety it is #1.  Get the Omega, you won't regret it.

I would have to go with everyone else. I would have the Omega if I did not have the Encore.  :D
