H&R frame?
«

Understand from my earlier post that the Shikari frame and the Topper frame are alike. What about the frame on my SB2 .223 Ultra by H&R. Is it the same as the Topper and Shikari, or is it different, as far as frame strength? Thanks

As I recollect, the pre '99 SB1(Topper & Pardner) frames are not the same as they are now, the frame material was changed. The SB2 frame on the .223 Ultra is much stronger, if it was built after '98, it's also heat treated which the SB1 isn't. Dunno about the actual material, there's been supposition that the old SB1 frames were malleable iron. I do know that an SB1 frame won't handle a high pressure barrel.
