I had the same problem 30 years ago, and my talented father carved out a new stock. Every time I pick up that rifle I feel a little of him with me.  The best chance you may have of finding something , is to take the old stock with you to gun shows, and gun smiths. You may find something close that can be made to work. I have never seen after market stocks for these rifles. Good luck.

Have you tried GunParts??  Or Jack First..  These are parts houses for many types of guns and the savages were made in great profusion..  I would bet that a used stock could be found..  You might also try some of the 'classifide' forums on this sight and perhaps others.  Also please note there are several models that should fit as well as variations...  If all else fails a 90% inlet blank could be purchased and finishes yourself...  Good luck.

Thanks for the input!!  I've never dealt with these folks befoere and have added them to my parts listing...  I really love the old Savage rifles, especially the 99.  I've several of their pump 22 rimfires also, a M25 and a M29...  Once again thanks for the very relavent info.!!!
