Christmas's A Comin, How Was Your Huntin??
« on: December 21, 2005, 01:27:00 AM »
Folks: With M/L season over and Christmas on the way deer hunting is winding down. After passing on several small bucks and a single antlered buck, I dropped a older doe, good eating. All season long, bow to M/L, seen lots of deer, hunting buddies took 4 nice bucks. Anyhow ended up butchering 11 deer. How You'all Do:  :-D  :-D <>< Duce: [/b]

Jeff: For the first time since I was 4, I didn't cross the MI/IN line going north :( . Gas price had a lot to do with it, traveling with the band was, another reason.  Part of it was the rising cost of non-resident license with no gain in right to hunt/fish.  MI isn't alone, IN has the highest resident license, reports are that IN will rise to $35 next year. IN is running off hunter faster that Klansmen at a block party    .
Honestly love the Yoopers {the real ones} and the country, but after a lot of thought even put the cabin up for sale it's just too far to get up there often enough :( . God Bless And Merry Christmas :?  :? Duce:

With handis this year: 5 doe. Three with the Huntsman, two with the .44 mag, both using the Lee 310 grain RNFP cast. I used lead for the muzzleloader and wheelweights for the .44.
Others: two doe, and a huge 12 point  buck with a Mauser in 30/06 that I built.

a doe, 5 pt and wide 7 pt with the Hunstman M/L

a doe, with my oldest son and my tikka M595 in .308.

Hit a BIG 11 pt high on the shoulder with an arrow, but did not kill him.  was relieved to see him walking around chasing doe a week or so later...

M/L still in for 3 weeks...  planning on getting out over the Christmas break
