This ought to make a lot of the handgun hunters happy especially the one in 7mm-08. GB might even like the idea. Glad to see them come to life on some of the more exotic items. .............Joe.............

Then you cannot have one!  The Weatherbys are designed for the descriminating hunter who enjoys - and can afford - the finest production firearms.  I greatly enjoy my T/Cs, my Remingtons, my BFs, but the Weatherby is something different, a cut above on several levels.  To each his own.

Is that really true Lone_Star?  I know that was the starting concept specially with the introduction of their magnum rounds but today I don't see much difference in the quality of their firearms.  Enlighten me

All you have to do is compare the workmanship, the fit and finish of a Weatherby to any Remington, Ruger, Winchester, etc. rifle, shotguns and pistols and you'll see and feel the difference.  I have one of the Weatherby AccuMark single shot pistols that Weatherby discontinued in 2001 and comparing it to a Remington XP 100 is NO COMPARISON.  The action of the Weatherby is so much smoother than the Remington, the action of the Remington feels like it has sand in it when compared to the Weatherby.  On top of this the Weatherby has a guarantee(not talking about the accuracy guarantee here)/reputation for backing up their products that other firearms companies don’t even try to touch.  Yeah, Weatherby’s cost more but you get your money’s worth.  Lawdog

Not gonna knock Weatherby's quality as they do indeed put thier name on some fine firearms.  I only wish that THEY actually made them.  The shotguns aren't all made by them.  The Vanguards are simply renamed Howas and I know that for years some of thier other rifles were sub-contracted out as some were made up here at Saco defence.  I prefer a firearms maker to actually produce thier guns in-house not away at another factory.  Still, they are fine products with very good fit and finishes.  I'd proberly own an Accumark if the stocks fit me better.  This CFP just has too narrow of a market to take off much better than before I think.  Personally, I'd opt for an HS Precision.  More personalized service and care taken in thier service and production.  I also prefer the mid-grip too.

  Like them, I gotta wonder, how'd they improve it from the previous model?

They will be available here in Calif., just when in 2006 I have no idea.  The one I want is the 7mm-08 and then have it sent out for a new wood stock.  Lawdog

I would like to see them made with the center grip stock that they had on the originals. Wood thumbhole and nice. Here is a link to one for sale on GunsAmerica. I don't remember the original price, but they are MUCH higher for the originals now.
