Guys, I just bought some of these cowboy offerings from PMC and was wondering if you guys have tried them. They say they are 405 gr. Cast Lead. I wondering if you guys no what the hardness of these are and the ratio of Lead to Tin is? Also, have you guys ever tried them for Deer hunting? I am wondering of they flatten at all or shoot clean right thru? Thanks-Jack.

Never used them, don't know how hard they are, but if you can scratch the bullet with you're fingernail they're relatively soft.  Even if they are hard and don't expand, you're starting out with a hole most 30 calibers want to end up with and using a 400 grain bullet, it will travel through one side and out the other.  If they shoot accurately in your shooter, go for it.

My brothers Marlin 1895CB likes those rounds. He used them this year to take a nice big doe. Shot her head on through the neck and she dropped like a rock. Range was about 75 yards. Sooo, yeah, they work on deer.
