Hi, new to the forum. My 1st ccw was my then duty weapon a ruger police service 6 4" barrel. carried that for several years. in the mid 9o's I started carrying a ruger sp101 with a 3 1/16 barrel. I have since fallen in love with the sp101 and plan to carry it until I find something better, though in the last 10 years or so I havent found anything better.(for me) Its small, light, accurate for its size, and after several thousand rounds it seems very, very tough.

Looking back I find it hard to believe, but I had a four-inch Smith 686 that I carried everywhere but on duty, when I had to carry the issued M-66.  But that 686 was the gun I wore constantly, practiced with, competed with, slept with, you name it.  After two years there was hardly a square edge left on it, it was like a bar of soap.  Now I have more trouble hiding a 3" revolver...........must be my own contours, the guns haven't changed!
