It depends on how much you want to spend . Most of your shots are going to be probable 75 yards or less . So a 4 power will do the job well or even a 3x9 .

You may want to look at the Bushnell Banner line or the Tasco for a low cost rig .

I have one of these on my 44Mag Handi, and have used it on my 22's before. It's pretty hard to go wrong with it, and the price is great- $19.95.
Good Field of view and clear.

A little .22 for squirrels?  Okay.

A little .22 for yotes?  Are you serious?

I guess that in very limited and ideal circumstances, a little .22 could work for yotes, but I certainly would not take a .22 hunting for yotes.

If you really want to hunt/shoot yotes, at least get a .223.

Sorry to disagree Zachary, but an old friend who owns a cattle farm has put down several yotes with his .22lr.  Again, he's an old Tennessee farm boy that grew up with a rifle in his hands and shooting it is second nature to him.....I myself have killed a couple with the lowley little .22lr........we both laugh at the magnumitisus that's spreading around the country..........can't kill a yote with a .22.......can't kill a deer with a 30-30.......or can't kill a deer with a .243........

As for the scope, a nikon prostaff fixed 4X would be my choice as 100 yards is really the limit for "practical" shooting.

I have a M8 Leupold 4X scope on mine and it works great.  :D

i have hunted yotes with everything from a .22short to a 12ga w/ 00buck to a police issue rem 700 in .308. i have many friends on the Police dept.(including our local gun dealer) who harvest those critters with a little .17! a .22 LR is more than enought to kill a yote. all i want is a scope that i can use for both squirrels and everything up to a yote.

We put a Nikon Prostaff 4x on my sons Marlin 915Y and it works great.  They're around $100 in the stores, but can be had for less elsewhere.
