My wife picked up a 39A and was planning on selling it what is a fair price to ask? The metall is in 98% condition and the wood has some lite scratches and minor dings! Thanks yottey

We need more info.  The first four of the serial would help.  Also, are the sites intact?  Is the marlin bulseye missing?  Any and all info will help.  I would guess you could sell it to a private indv. in the $250 range, but again thats without much info.
I am not afraid to make an example out of you

The year can be determined from the serial number. Look on rimfirecentral.com. They have a section with Marlin and a file with an explanation of manufacturing years.
I bought a 39M in March that was in very nice shape for $300, but why would you want to sell yours? I also have a 39A that I got new while I was in high school in 1963. It has so many rounds through it that I probably need a new barrel, but I wouldn’t sell it.

I have a 1969 M39A with golden trigger. My Fjestad blue book is several years old now so value is meaningless. You can look on Gunbroker.com and see what the current prices are ranging at. Unless you have other 39A's I have to wonder why your selling. It's a fine lever rimfire. Mine has tens of thousands of rounds through it and still shoots 1" at 70 yds all day long. Damn fine for squirrel, etc.
