Ruger Blackhawk problem

I recently purchased a Blackhawk .357. The first time I took it out I noticed that there are no positive stops in the cylinder rotation to line up the cylinder with the ejector rod. Unloading the empties is taking the fun out of shooting this piece. Is this typical for this gun or is there something wrong with it. Does anyone have a tip or trick to make this less of a problem.

It's the nature of the beast.  There are aftermarket parts that allow the cylinder to freely turn in either direction when the loading gate is open.  Midway has them and I've seen them advertised elsewhere but don't remember by whom.

That is normal. Annoying at times until you figure out how to deal with it, but normal.

The new models by Ruger address this and have a positive stop to align the ejector and chamber.
