Looking for an accurate load for new CVA Optima .45...
« on: January 02, 2006, 09:41:18 AM »
New to the forum here...

I've been shooting sidelocks for many years and got this inline (my first) for Christmas. First day at the range and the TC 240 gn Maxi's that worked so well in my other .45s wouldn't even stay on paper.

I'm looking at shooting 180 gn .40 pistol bullets with the tan sabots next.

Anybody out there have any load recommendations for this gun? Again, it's a .45.

Best Regards,
Skillet

I have no experience with an Optima but shoot 45's. I like 80 to 90 grains of Triple 7 FFF with a tan sabot and either 180 or 200 grain 40 cal XTP's.

Been shooting some Blackmag 3 lately and getting good results also. The Blackmag I have is hot, 70 to 80 grains does well in a couple of my 45's.
