If anyone has shot the 460 S&W, I would be interested in knowing what the best groups obtainable on a consistent basis were.

I have been shooting the 460 Mag as soon as the gun was available. I get 1 1/2 inch groups consistently at 100 yards. I was out shooting the other day at my indoor range which is only 25 yards and I had one ragged hole. The accuracy is outstanding.

Thanks for the reply.  It sounds like I need a barrel for my Encore when T/C has solved their accuracy problem.  At least when I called about a month and a half ago, they couldn't get satisfactory accuracy with their barrels and factory ammo.  It should be perfect for Ohio deer hunting where, with a handgun, only straight wall cartridges are permitted.

Mine is accurate, but........the 45 Colt Corbon +p and Corbon 300 grain Casull shoot to the same point of aim, the 460 200's shoot 8 to 10" lower at 25 yards............

My buddy shoots a 454 Casull in his Encore and he is scared of it because of the recoil, he wanted the 460 in an Encore but got the 454 Casull instead. Now he is shooting 45 L/C due to the recoil of the 454.  I am sure the 460 in the Encore is quit a handful.

have put over 1000 rounds thru s&w 460 XVR. with 2-6X bushnell scope AVERAGE groups at 200 yds is 4.5 inch. calm days (usually) groups are 3.25 inch windy spread out to 7+ inch. at 75 yards 45 colt and 460 s&w are only 2-3 inch apart, 454 are lower. at 200 yards not even on the same backer (24" X 35"). when i can hit a dixie cup at 200 yards 4 out of 5 times that is incredible accuracy for me out of a revolver.

now, has anyone come up with a really good load for the barnes-x 200gr bullet or a source for the polymer tipped 200 gr bullets. my closest load to factory is 46gr lil'gun with the barnes bullet but chronograph only shows 2100 fps (no sign of over pressure but when you're working with that much pressure i don't like to go above manual maximum loads) and bullets hit 3.5 inches low at 200 yards.

any comments?
