Ruger #3No I have not rectified my thoughts on 6mm's. A 6mm's are pretty good varmint calibers with small charges, like 6ppc, 6BR, 6x47(222Rem Mag case) I am using a 1-12" twist. Bullet weights from 55-70 gr max.
I had six of big 6mm's and gave up on them. They are very poor deer cartridges. But my 6ppc is a different story not for deer though.
The two 223 Handi's I had, I thought one of them was usable for a light varminter, because the cartridge is inherently very accurate. But neither one did qualify for a varmint rifle as far as accuracy was concerned.
That is why the 223 became a 6x47 with a custom bore. The other one became the 257 Roberts. I am not tickled with H&R barrel quality. The 25-06 I had was no screeming heck either but not too bad.
