THANKS KAP!!!
« on: December 28, 2005, 08:29:07 AM »
As I was sitting at the breakfast bar today, measuring out little tubes of 10 grains of ffg for new years (ONE advantage of little-tiny cannons---You CAN shoot them at home, IF you are careful!)
The UPS came and in it was the neatest little kit I have ever seen! The barrel is georgeous! But those Handles! They are fantastic!
Thank you so much
I guess NOW I have a battery--with the combined bores equaling less than 1 inch. But I have grand   plans--------
Now to look for little, square nuts & allthread!
Thank you!

Santa Dave,
Let me know if/where you find the "little square nuts". My local hobby shop has all-thread the right size but no square nuts.
Thanks,
dave

Lowe's has some square nuts but I don't know what size you are looking for.  Also try your local Ace type place.

I believe he is looking for 4-40 sq. nuts.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

Square nuts
« Reply #7 on: January 02, 2006, 09:55:55 AM »
I have found a source of 4-40 square nuts. At this point the number I must order is silly (5000) . but They are not all that expensive. How many people out here need 4-40 square nuts? and how many do you need? Does anyone feel 4-40 is wrong?
My next search is for the wood for the side rails. At first I was going to use oak but as I am going to paint it I will use whah ever hard wood I can find  that is the right size.
I loaded my lil deck gun to fire at midnite. But when midnite came I was all toasty & warm in bed so I chickened out & didn't. besides there was some nut ripid firing something LARGE up on the hill & I didn't want to find out what! or where they were coming down.
Happy new year to all (& Boom A boom for me)

I finally got to my local hobby pusher today. on the counter were several very expensive R/C car engines, earch with a hole in the care from a broken rod! OUCH!
I found 4-40 allthread, 4-40 nuts & washers, a piece of brass for the "vent sheild", and some basswood to make the side rails.
BUT NO 4-40 SQUARE NUTS (But I have a good lead!
How many people need 4-40 square nuts? I'll send 'em to you but You gotta let me know!
I figure 14 per mortar.
Again, let me know! Soon!

Dave,
I could use some of those 4-40 square nuts but I count 16, or are you using something different for the caps.
My local hobby shop just gave me the "dumb haze" look when I asked for them.
Let me know how many I need to buy (if you have a minimum) and where to send you some dough.
Thanks,
dave
