A quick question about the Jamming Remingtons.
Have you figured out exactly what is causing the jam?
Is it jamming when feeding or extracting or both?
I have found that the recoil springs in most modern
semi-auto rimfires are excessively stiff or long. I have removed
several coils from the spring to shorten them a bit and
this has made them feed better. Also, the chamber mouth
has an edge on it like a razor blade and instead of the tip of
the bullet slipping past it, it bites into the lead and causes a feed
stoppage. I have a set of very small files that I will
round off the top part of the chamber mouth very slightly
so it will no longer bite into the lead.
Not telling you to do these things, just saying that they have worked
for me (Disclaimer)
