Light Rust

I have a 17VS with the stainless barrel, it is starting to develope a little rust on it goes away when wiped down with oil but comes back. Any tips on cleaning the outside of the barrel? Steel wool? Any advice would be great.

I have found that paste wax works well on SS , clean any rust of , then wipe the oil off , put a lite coat of wax on it and let dry , then buff litely .

And if you get any on the stock it woln't hurt it .
